Thomas Parte Signed for Villarreal during a free transfer after the expiration of his contract with Arsenal.
The 32 -year -old defensive midfielder has entered into a seasonal agreement and will join the Villarreal team in training on Friday despite his current legal case.
Party was charged last month of having violated two women and is accused of five rape indictments concerning two women, plus an accusation of sexual assault against a third woman, between April 2021 and June 2022.
“The club knows that the player is currently involved in legal proceedings in England. The player vehemently defends his innocence and denies all the charges against him,” Villarreal said in a statement.
“The club respects its presumption of innocence as a fundamental principle and awaits the verdict of the courts, which will be responsible for the clarification of the facts of the case.
“In accordance with British law concerning current procedures, the club will not comment on this issue any more.”
Partey made 167 appearances for Arsenal, marking nine goals after joining Atletico Madrid in 2020.
Villarreal, who beat Arsenal 3-2 during a pre-season friend on Wednesday, started his Laliga campaign at home to promote Real Oviedo on August 16.
