Paramount Hires Josh Goldstine as President of Marketing and Distribution

Josh Goldstine has officially joined Paramount Pictures as president of worldwide marketing and distribution.
His appointment has been rumored since September, when Marc Weinstock left his post as marketing chief as part of the executive shakeup surrounding the company’s merger with Skydance. Goldstine starts Wednesday and will report to film directors Josh Greenstein and Dana Goldberg.
“Over the course of his career, Josh has led the marketing of franchise cornerstones and originals,” Greenstein and Goldberg wrote in a memo to staff. “He brings keen strategic insight to positioning, creative advertising, media, publicity, partnerships, analytics, strategy and research, creative content and now theatrical distribution.”
Best known for masterminding the pink publicity machine for “Barbie,” Goldstine spent four years as president of worldwide marketing at Warner Bros. where he also oversaw promotional efforts for commercial hits like “Dune,” “The Batman,” “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” and “Wonka.” He spent seven years at Universal Pictures, working on films such as “Fast & Furious,” “Despicable Me,” “Get Out” and “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Earlier in his career, Goldstine worked for two decades at Sony Pictures as president of creative advertising. There, he worked on the campaigns for Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy, “The Social Network,” “Casino Royale” and “The Da Vinci Code.”
