Villanova, PA. – A pair of individuals associated with Villanova Athletics has obtained FULBRIGHT students grants for the university year 2025-26. MAWUTOR FIAVEVEY (mascot) and Emma Grabenstetter (Water Polo) will serve each of the teaching assistants in English in Europe, being two of the 17 villanovans to win the subsidies this year.
Fiaveve and Grabenstetter are the 10th and 11th representatives of Villanova athletics to receive Fulbright subsidies since 2004, joining the volleyball graduate in 2024, Madeline Barber as a recipient in the past two years.
Grabenstetter, a four -year member of the seen Water Polo program, will spend the year as an English teaching assistant in Malta. Originally from Santa Barbara, California, Grabenstetter graduated in May after obtaining a diploma in political science with minors in peace and justice and sustainability studies.
The striker played 24 games in the first year and accumulated two goals and 10 assists in 2024 before laying six assists on the Wildcats classified at the national level as a senior.
Outside the swimming pool, she was swimming instructor for disadvantaged young people and in a wheelchair sports camp for young people in addition to student stays abroad in Prague, Greece and Rome. Upon her return to the United States, she plans to attend the law faculty and pursue international law.
Fiavevey, a member of the Cheer program who will teach English in Spain in Spain. A Nutley, New Jersey, Fiavey product ended his undergraduate career with a baccalaureate in global science, a minor in sociology and a commercial certificate.
Fiavey was the university mascot Will D. Cat During his stay in Villanova, responsible for appearances during sporting events since his second year. In addition to his work with the Cheer program, Fiavey co -chaired the learning community of the Villanova service and volunteered as a tutor after school for local Latinos and mentor for high school students from the Philadelphia region.
After his year Fulbright, he plans to frequent the dental school and “develop access to care in English and Spanish -speaking communities”.
Fiaveve, Grabenstetter and 15 other villanovans will start their programs in the coming weeks, which means that nearly 200 Wildcats have won the award since 2016.
