The right -handed of Padres, Yu Darvish, will make his seasonal debut when San Diego welcomes Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday evening.

The five-time all-star was sidelined all season due to the inflammation of the elbow. It was eliminated after launching a side session on Saturday and should be limited to 75 throws.

“We are delighted that it happens,” said Shildt about Darvish’s return. “It really answered him the verification of all the boxes – simulated games, recovering, enclosures … which can maintain the speed.”

Darvish, 38, is in his fifth season with the Padres. He has 39-32 with an MPM of 3.79 in 100 departures for San Diego.

Overall, Darvish is 110-88 with an MPM of 3.58 in 282 departures with the Texas Rangers (2012-17), Los Angeles Dodgers (2017), Chicago Cubs (2018-20) and Padres. Darvish missed the 2015 season with Texas after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Padres could certainly use Darvish, because the right-handed right-handed Michael King (number of the shoulder’s nerve) has missed the last six and more weeks. Dylan stopped from top to bottom is the team’s starter n ° 1 at the moment.

On May 14, Darvish made an appearance in rehabilitation of four rounds for Triple-A El Paso, but no more elbow problems took place after departure, pushing his expected return.

Darvish did not start to readjust this time.

The right-hander Zac Gallen (6-9, 5.45) will start for Arizona in the opening of a series of four games.
