Pacers, Rick Carlisle accepts the extension of the contract, in relation to: Indiana locks the coach after the end of the NBA finals

Rick Carlisle transformed the title of the East Conference of Indiana Pacers in a new contract. The Pacers and Carlisle agreed with a multi -year extension, according to ESPN.

Carlisle, 65, has just completed his fourth season as a coach of the Pacers. After winning 60 games combined during its first two seasons, Carlisle guided Indiana to consecutive appearances of the Eastern Conference final which includes the first title of the franchise since 2000. The Pacers 2024-25 were a victory for the capture of the first title of the franchise. The Indiana fell to Oklahoma City Thunder in match 7 of the NBA 2025 final.

Towards the NBA, Carlisle won an NBA title as a player on the 1986 Boston Celtics, one of the biggest teams in the history of the NBA. While his playing career was short, Carlisle had a long career as a coach that started in 1989.

The 11 seasons of Carlisle as an assistant included a title of conference in the East with the 1999-00 Pacers while working under the former Celtic teammate, Larry Bird. He obtained his first coaching concert with the Detroit Pistons in 2001, but was dismissed after two years despite 50 regular season games each season.

After being dismissed in Detroit, Carlisle returned to Indiana, where he replaced Bird as a new coach of the Pacers. His first passage as a coach of the Pacers lasted four years and included three trips to the playoffs.

Carlisle’s coach career did not really take off until he went to Dallas before the 2008-09 season. During his third season with the Mavericks, Carlisle led the franchise to his first title of the NBA, a six -game victory against Miami Heat led by Lebron James. Carlisle was going to spend 13 seasons as a Mavericks coach.

This season, Carlisle has a chance to take the only possession of 10th place on the list of all time of victories in the playoffs of an NBA coach. Ironically, his 81 victories in the playoff series are currently on par with his former coach in Boston, KC Jones, who guided Celtics to the NBA title in 1984 and 1986.
