Overview of the series: the giants are lucky to scare the paadres

Last week, the Padres de San Diego wiped out the Giants of San Francisco in Oracle Park. Nor was it a nuaculation of the situation in orbit. The paadres entered the thickness and struck each giant so strong that his ancestor felt him. It was a humiliation as thorough as you are likely to see it by an opponent of division, but as for everything related to the Giants & Padres, it would have been worse if he had involved the dodgers.
Because the giants were helpless losers against San Diego, the Padres captured first place in the NL West before a power test on weekends with Shohei Ohtani and some guys. They went to Los Angeles with a maximum fanfaron and were quickly swept away from first place. They welcome the Giants to Petco Park for the next four days, and there is a chance that this week is repeating itself last week and that the Padres will do so well against the giants that they find themselves in first place just in time to face the dodgers this weekend.

Unless the giants make them really nervous.
Look, the GIANTS GIG Victory yesterday should not be considered a pivot point in the season. It was only their 8th home victory in 30 games (exactly two months). They are only 2-13 in their last two household houses. But the giants have the ingredients to be a thorn next to any baseball team. Theoretically, they are not as bad as the White Sox, the Nationals and the Rockies, even if they have played as bad or worse as anything also; And, as a rival to division of the paadres, you would like to think that they get up for a series which could put another breach in confidence of San Diego.
Their short time at the top of the NL West was the first time they have been in first place since the end of a season since 2010, the year the Giants led them in September to win the division and continue to win the World Series. Of course, none of the current paadres was there for that, but all they know is that their competition is the dodgers, that they can never beat.
The Padres won the last series of four season against the Giants, including this season when they are already 7-2. Now I do not suggest that the giants are able to sweep The Padres (thus equaling the 7-6 series of the season of last year in favor of San Diego), but if they divided or earn the series, this will only make the padres more difficult in their quest to overthrow the Dodgers for the Crown of the Division. Losing two home games for a team you just sprayed? It would make a team question how good it is.

There are some oddities in this series that did not exist last week. Jackson Merrill suffered a tension on the left ankle that could make him miss the match one of the series. It was 6 for 13 with a circuit and a pair of doubles at Oracle Park. He was injured in the match one of the Dodgers series (after a 2-in-4 with a double) and was 0 for the rest of the series. Although the Padres start (probably) two left -handers – Nestor Cortes in the first match and, perhaps, the former Athletic JP Sears Wednesday or Thursday – the Giants have Christian Koss and Tyler Fitzgerald on the list this week. Now, these guys do not change the situation, but they both offer different dimensions on the plate that the other teams need to respect a little: Scrappy contact in the case of Koss, power in the case of Fitzgerald.
It is not that the giants overcome the bump against the left -handed pitch, but confidence goes very far, and if Koss can reduce a few success in the opposite field, in front of Ramos, Adames and Devers, which makes a big difference. In addition to that, Jung Hoo Lee was hot all month. It cuts .339 / .373 / .518 since August 1 (59 PA) with only 6 stick withdrawals. On the season, he strikes. 270 against the left -handers.

Prediction time
If you are a fan of the paadres, you almost certainly believe that it will be a walk in the park. An easy 3-1 victory or a fairly easy scan. If you are a padding player, you probably think: “I know that I am supposed to take a game at a time and never underestimate my opponent, but these guys did not beat us in four years and last week, we all made them look like stinking league”, which could be cut. They could try a little less, assuming that victory is guaranteed. But Manny Machado does not assume and he never holds to his opponent for granted. I think he likes to be the aggressor.
The more reason for which I would like to predict the giants at least divide the series and make the paadres a little dizzy with confusion – “Are we a good team?” “Can we beat the dodgers?” We couldn’t even beat the giants – at home! ” The season is not yet over, and before the Giants plan their vacation out of season, they should endeavor to stay alive and present at least for this week, when they face the Padres and the Dodgers. They are not better than the two teams, but they can certainly make sure that the two teams submit to what extent they are. As the great Maria Bamford recalls: “If you stay alive for any other reason, please do it to despite.”
