OU-Alabama playoff preview: Stadium bag policy, parking, rules to know

The Oklahoma Sooners will host the Alabama Crimson Tide in the first round of the College Football Playoff this week at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

No. 8 Oklahoma (10-2, 6-2) finished the season with four straight wins, including two ranked wins. The Sooners beat Alabama 23-21 in Tuscaloosa, snapping the Tide’s 17-game home winning streak in November. No. 9 Alabama (10-3, 7-1) beat rival Auburn 27-20 in the final regular game of the season, but lost to Georgia 28-7 in the SEC Championship.

Gaylord Family – Prohibited Items at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium

Before heading to Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, make sure not to bring the following:

  • Bags, backpacks, fanny packs and hard cases for binoculars

  • Beach balls, soccer balls, balls or other sports equipment

  • Cameras with lenses larger than 6 inches

  • Chair backs with frames, arms and/or wider than 16 inches

  • Coolers, containers or coolers

  • Explosives, firearms or weapons

  • Noisemakers of any type (e.g. air horns, plastic horns, whistles, etc.)

  • Pets (except registered assistance dogs)

  • Selfie sticks, bipods, monopods, etc.

Oklahoma Memorial Stadium Bag Policy

The only bags allowed into stadiums are clear bags and totes measuring 12″ X 6″

Empty, clear plastic water bottles less than 17 oz are permitted, as well as seat cushions and chair backs less than 16″ wide and without frames or armrests.

Medical devices are permitted after inspection upon entry.

Stadium Alcohol Policy

Fans over the age of 21 are permitted to purchase alcoholic beverages at stadium concessions until the end of the third quarter, with the following restrictions:

  • There is a limit of two (2) alcoholic beverages per person, per ID, per transaction;

  • Alcohol is not permitted to leave the stadium gates nor may outside alcohol be brought into the stadium on match day;

  • Valid ID is required for purchase.

Parking at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium

There are 14 parking lots available for match days.

Fans are advised to arrive early due to the first-come, first-served policy, and the fee is $30; certain lots will be reserved. Public parking is limited and heavily monitored on match days. Find directions online at Soonersports.com.

For fans parking at the Lloyd Noble Center, a $5 round-trip shuttle is available to the stadium.
