Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon recalled for possible contamination by Listeria

The problem was discovered after laboratory tests in a Kraft Heinz installation indicated that turkey can be contaminated by Listeria monocytogenesA bacteria that most often leads to illness in the elderly, pregnant people, newborns and people with weakened immune systems.
There was no confirmed report of disease related to the consumption of the recalled turkey bacon, said the FSIS.
Kraft Heinz recalled the following products:
- Oscar Mayer Mayer Mayer Turkey Bacon of 12 ounces, with dates of use between July 18, 2025 and August 2, 2025 and the Lot RS40 code
- Three packs of 12 ounces Oscar Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original, with dates of use between July 23, 2025 and September 4, 2025 and the codes of Lot RS19, RS40 or RS42
- Four packs of 12 ounces Oscar Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon Original, with dates of use between July 18, 2025 and September 4, 2025 and the codes of Lot RS19, RS40 or RS42
The FSIS has warned that the Recalled turkey bacon could still be in the refrigerators or the freezers of certain people. The agency urges people not to eat it and to throw it or to return it where it was bought.
Listeria infection can cause serious illness
But listeriosis can cause serious illness for adults over the age of 60, people with compromise immune systems, pregnant and newborns.
Listeriosis is called invasive if it spreads beyond the gastrointestinal tract. During pregnancy, invasive listeriosis can cause miscarriage, mortinity, premature delivery or deadly infection of the newborn.
In other high -risk groups, invasive listeriosis can cause serious illness or even death.
Invasive listeriosis can cause the following symptoms:
- Fever
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Stiff neck
- Confusion
- Loss of balance
- Seizures
Sometimes these symptoms occur after diarrhea or other gastrointestinal problems.
If you are in a high-risk group and you feel pseudo-scriptable symptoms within two months of the consumption of potentially contaminated food, you should get medical care and talk to your doctor about your Listeria concerns.
