The photos of Walt Disney and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have tried to pass a new film “Pirates of the Caribbean” for some time, but the project has still not left the port. At least one of the original stars is ready to come back … and he hopes that others will follow.
At Fan Expo Chicago 2025, Orlando Bloom, who played the blacksmith who became Pirate Will Turner in four of the five previous films, discussed the possibility of “Pirates 6” and appear to him (as reported by Entertainment Weekly), saying:
“I would personally I would like to see everyone again. I think the way of winning it is to recover everyone. If she can, and if everyone wanted to go back … My thing is, if the script was great and – ideally it was everyone – it would be a bit like a penny, for a book, you know.”

When Bloom says he wants “everyone”, however, I hope he also includes someone behind the camera: Gore Verbinski, the director of the original films (and by far the best) of three “pirates”.

Verbinski’s biggest talent as a filmmaker is to build sets. The action in his films “pirates” is maniac, does not lack comedy but always completely exciting. The other problem that “Pirates of the Caribbean” has never overcome is that “at the end of the world” concluded things too definitively for the original distribution. Will was obliged to captain the Flying Dutchman, but if Elizabeth remained faithful to him for 10 years, they could again be together. The film ended by showing that it did it.
