Orioles find positive points in series with cardinals

Baltimore Orioles finally have something to build, and they will be back at home trying to do so.
The Orioles face the Cardinals of St. Louis on Monday afternoon to start a series of three games.
“The last two games were where we should be,” said Baltimore launcher Dean Kremer. “It’s something to build, and all we can do is continue to move forward after that.”
By winning 5-1 in Boston on Sunday, the Orioles won consecutive matches for the first time since April 30 and May 2.
“It’s always exciting when you see the victories starting to meet,” said Baltimore outflow, Dylan Carlson. “The hard work begins to roll, starting to bear fruit. It makes the game even more fun.”
Carlson, a former cardinal player, struck his first circuit with the Orioles during the Sunday match.
“Just to come and help the team win a match,” he said. “It’s always the goal.”
However, not all news were good for Orioles. The receiver Adley Rutschman left the match on Sunday a few rounds after being struck on the mask by a ball fault. The acting manager Tony Mansolino said that Rutschman would be reassessed when the team was returned home, but that his status for the match on Monday will necessarily be in question.
Maverick Handley, a recruit with less than a month of experience in major leagues, replaced Rutschman.
Saint-Louis obtained a visit to Arizona 4-3 on Sunday for his third consecutive victory and his seventh victory in his last 10 games.
The cardinals hope that the Voltigeur Jordan Walker will be able to launch out after consecutive outings for two strokes during the weekend.
“There is a very high ceiling and that is why you must be patient,” said Oliver Marmol, director of St. Louis, about Walker. “I love the combination of his work and his state of mind at the moment. This is what gives us hope that this will be directed in the right direction.”
St. Louis’s first goal player Willson Contreras missed consecutive matches with back discomfort, although Marmol said it was a daily situation.
The cardinals have the right-hander Erick Fedde (3-3, 3.77 ERA) aligned themselves as their starting launcher in the opening of the series. It is 2-0 in four starts in May. Non -decisions occurred during his last two outings – 5 2/3 laundry in Philadelphia on 14 and five heats in which he abandoned four points to Detroit last Tuesday.
It will be the 11th start of the Fedde season after only 10 departures in 2024. In four career clashes (three departures) against the Orioles, it is 2-0 with an MPM of 0.38, abandoning a race in 23 2/3 heats.
Baltimore rotation was confused, in particular after the creation of rain reports for two days in Boston. The Orioles had not appointed a starter on Sunday evening.
The Orioles took a step before the match on Sunday by activating the man of the utility cooper Hummel, who had been signed as a free agent.
The cardinals will start a six -game road trip. It is also the first of the nine consecutive games for the American League teams in St. Louis, with the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals to follow the calendar.
The cardinals swept the Orioles in three games last May at home.
