Open de France 2025: How Emma Raducanu will seek to stun Iga Swiatek in Roland Garros

Raducanu, who climbed up to 41st in the ranking after a stroke of encouragement a few months, had little joy against Swiatek.
The US Open 2021 champion lost its four previous meetings – twice on interior Clay in Stuttgart, and twice on hard grounds at Indian Wells and the Australian Open this year.
The 6-1 6-0 defeat in Melbourne was particularly reprimanded, with strokes of Swiatek proving to be too powerful and precise for Raducanu.
“She is really excited when she plays me – I don’t know why it’s but she has always played very well,” Raducanu told BBC Sport.
“I don’t know if it’s one thing about me, but each time we were playing, it was high.”
Raducanu has improved in the four months since her last meeting, but the way she was upgraded by the world number two Coco Gauff on the Madrid clay has shown the gap that she still has to fill.
“Against an opponent of superior quality who will not disappear psychologically, this is where you will see where the Raducanu game is,” said Croft.
“She knows she has to go out and be aggressive against Swiatek. She won’t get away with it by pushing the ball.
“She will have to get the first strike and will also have to obtain depth – or an angle – to try to control the point.
“If you start playing the catch -up against Swiatek in a rally, you will release the second best.”
