One person killed, another injured in hit-and-run on I-95 in Chester

One person was killed and another seriously injured in an early morning hit-and-run crash on Interstate 95 in Chester, Virginia State Police said.
It happened just before 2:30 a.m. Nov. 22 on southbound I-95 near the Chester exit, said State Police Sgt. Jessica Shehan said in an email. Two vehicles, a Jeep Compass and a Nissan Altima, had stopped for unknown reasons in the right lane, and the drivers were outside their vehicles when they were struck.
The suspect vehicle also struck the open driver’s door of the Jeep.
Virginia State Police said one person died and another was seriously injured when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver Nov. 22 on southbound Interstate 95 in Chester. The people were stopped in a lane of traffic when they were struck.
Shehan said the driver of the Altima, Anthony Lee Crawford Jr., 27, of Chesterfield County, was killed instantly. The driver of the Jeep – Asti Naimah Lacy, 31, of Henrico County – was rushed to VCU Medical Center in Richmond with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities found a passenger side mirror at the scene that they believe belongs to a white Volkswagen sport utility vehicle. Shehan said the vehicle likely had damage to the passenger side, including a headlight.
