One of Hollywood’s Best Scream Queens Joins John Travolta in New Creature Movie

Melissa Barrera spent two films taking on the black-and-white-clad Ghostface killers of the Shout franchise. In her next film, she will fight for survival against very different killers with a yet familiarly monochrome color palette. She is set to star in the new action-horror film Oil spillswhich will center on a family attacked by a group of ravenous killer whales.
According to reports, Barrera will play with John Travolta in the film, which will be directed by a veteran director Renny Harlin. She will play Rebecca, a woman with a young son, Sebastian (Dylan Torrell, Islands). They meet his estranged father, Bill (Travolta), on his sailboat off the coast of Spain, but the reunion soon turns into a fight for survival when they are besieged by orcas who capsize their yacht. The film also stars Travolta’s daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta (Old dogs), And Alvaro Mel (Killer Book Club).
According to director Harlin, “Melissa brings both fire and vulnerability to a role that demands everything – emotionally, physically and cinematically. She and John together are movie magic, and they elevate every beat of this story.” The storyline of the film is Chris Sparling (Greenland) And Acute Angel (Apocalypse Z: The beginning of the end); it is currently filming on location in Gran Canaria, Spain.
What other Orca horror films are there?
The orca is one of the most fearsome predators on the planet; However, due to their status as icons of the environmental movement and the relative rarity of orca attacks on humans, films have generally treated the killer whale as a protagonist rather than an antagonist. Movies like Free Willy and its sequels and the documentary Black fish treated animals as majestic and intelligent creatures. Even one of the few horror films to present the creature as a threat, from 1977. Orcamade the animal surprisingly friendly. The film was producer Dino De Laurentiis‘attempt to surpass the muscles Jawsand centered on an orca whose pregnant mate was inadvertently killed by a grizzled fisherman, Nolan (Richard Harris). The orca goes on a rampage through Nolan’s port of call and devours a number of citizens before Nolan joins forces with marine biologist Rachel Bedford (Charlotte Rampling) to bring down the beast.
Oil spills“The director, Harlin, is a veteran of both horror (Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master) and navigation (Cutthroat Island) kinds. He had already combined the two in the super shark horror film. Deep blue seaand recently made another film about aquatic predators, Deep waterwith Aaron Eckhart And Ben Kingsley.
