ONE 173: “This fight will be my first”

Four-time K-1 champion Kana Morimoto of Japan is still looking for that knockout victory in ONE Championship.
“Krusher Queen” hopes the finish finally comes at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri vs. former ONE three-sport world champion Stamp Fairtex.
This highly anticipated women’s atomweight kickboxing tiff will take place this Sunday, November 16 at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo.
The 33-year-old veteran has demonstrated her world-class striking skills in the field of martial arts.

However, Kana admits she wants to end her drought, and there’s no better way to do it at the biggest martial arts event of the year and against one of the promotion’s most recognizable stars.
She told the South China Morning Post (SCMP) in a recent interview:
“Yes, of course. I haven’t knocked down any opponents and I haven’t had a knockout in ONE Championship. So this fight will be my first and I will continue to do so in this organization.”
For Kana, sending a definitive message puts her back in the running for 26 pounds of gold.
The Team Aftermath athlete wants to spoil Stamp’s long-awaited return from a knee injury and put on a good show for the Japanese fans at ONE 173.

Kana explains the importance of beating Stamp
Kana Morimoto hopes to become a superstar in the world of martial arts.
For the “Krusher Queen,” beating a globally beloved figure like Stamp Fairtex brings her even closer to that goal.
“I think Stamp is one of the most popular and famous fighters in ONE Championship, so that means a lot of fans around the world are also looking forward to this fight,” Kana explained to SCMP.
“So I want to win this fight, and it’s a great fight to show who I am, who I am to the fans, and I’m ready to show an exciting fight.”
