On redistribution – TPM – Memo on discussion points

I want to answer the questions now about redistribution: in particular, that the Democrats in the blue states reliably should, if necessary, what is happening in Texas? The answer is simple. We are in the current situation to a decisive degree because the forces of civic democracy have not been willing to use political power with something like the impressive or the aggressiveness of authoritarian law. The answer is simple. States like California and New York are expected to gerrymate their states to neutralize the power capture of Texas. Since more democratic states have non -partisan commissions, by definition, the blue states have more to win. What about the point of principle? If I was in the positions of the governors of California or New York, I would say that if Texas wishes or cancels its redistribution and puts it back to the previous cards, their states will do the same. This satisfies any point in principle. We need a national redistribution law to create a common framework. Having a single side is stupid. The reality is that the United States is a nation state. Democracy will be held or fall at this level.
It will become much more relevant when Donald Trump is no longer in power. But the old system was broken. Ignore the standards and follow the law. A new system will have to be built to replace the old one, which cannot be resuscitated.
