“I must be realistic”

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal suggested the possibility of early retirement from professional football while working to return to action. The Spanish international missed most of the season by an injury, after having broken his previous cross ligament (ACL) at the start of the campaign.

Carvajal revealed in an interview reported via X that he understood that his career as a footballer approached his end. The 33 -year -old revealed that he had chosen to be realistic in his assessment, indicating that he has no more years to play.

“It was a long trip. My sports career is already approaching the end. I hope not, but I must be realistic ”.

Dani Carvajal was at Real Madrid during his senior career, but appreciated an unforgettable 2024 before his injury. The rear right helped Real Madrid win the UEFA Champions League and Laliga titles during the 2023-24 season, marking in the Champions League final. He then helped Spain win Euro 2024 and was nominated for the Ballon d’Or.

Carvajal only presented Eight times in Laliga this season before undergoing his injury against Villarreal in October. The rear right should return to the action in time for the FIFA club World Cup next month, but is preparing his mind for retirement.
