The Oldenburg International Film Festival unveiled the first titles of its 32nd edition, highlighting a list of world first and starts with solid projections from Irish Cinema and recent stars of the Cannes Film Festival, Karlovy Vary and Locarno.
Three new Irish productions anchor this year’s program. Jim Sheridan, a six -time Oscar nomine, teams up with David Merriman RecreationWho revisits the disputed case of Ian Bailey, long linked to the murder in 1996 of Sophie Toscan du Plantier. The film was created in Tribeca and presents Vicky Krieps and John Connors.
Connors also plays Crazy loveThe first feature film by stage director Kevin Treacy and the director of photography Jason Byrne. The drama, on an improbable romance in a psychiatric hospital, will be presented worldwide in Oldenburg. Complete the Irish projectors is Horseshoe From Edwin Mullane and Adam O’Keeffe, a family drama with supernatural elements that won the best Irish first Irish film in Galway.
Additional protruding facts include Ondrej Provaznik Broken voicewhich was presented at first in Karlovy varies; Vincent Grashaw’s Keep silentwho made his debut in Locarno and includes Lou Diamond Phillips; And The girl in the snowThe beginnings of Louise Hemon who projected Criticisms from Cannes into the week. Oldenburg also unveiled the trailer for this year festival.
