Oklahoma City Thunder wins the NBA championship; MVP of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander

The NBA final ended with a large victory for one of the smallest teams of the small market in the League: Oklahoma City Thunder.

Make no mistake, however, the market can be small, but the team, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, was powerful. And the MVP of the Gilgeous-Alexander League was also rewarded by the Final MVP Prize, marking the first time in 25 years that the same player won the two MVP trophies.

Their victory saw the Thunder defeat the Indiana Pacers, whose return victories series ended in this defeat of match 7, 103-91.

In the first trimester, the Pacers Haliburton Tyrese fell with an Achilles injury. The superstar guard was already playing through a veal tension he had suffered in match 5. Haliburton did not return to the ground and, despite an effort to play his teammates, the Thunder controlled most of the rest of the match.

By entering the competition with an advantage of the field, the Thunder has had a regular season record of the 68-14 League. The team has progressed to its first series of championships since 2012 after beating Minnesota Timberwolves 4-1 in the Western Conference final.

In the East, the Pacers dominated their rivals, The New York Knicks, 4-2, with Haliburton making a remarkable last minute shot to win the match 2. This complaint marked the first time of the Indiana in the championship series since 2000. His other championship occurred in 1979 in the team’s permeable incarnation as Seattle Supersonics.

The final of the NBA of this year marks the seventh unique victory in seven years, the longest period in the history of the League, as well as the first match 7 since 2016. It is also the most competitive final of the League for years, marking the fulfillment of the effort of Commissioner Adam Silver to create parity among the smallest markets and the largest NBA market franchises.

On the other hand, despite the strong series, the small market match is probably one of the least low in recent memory.
