“Without art and music, what do we have in this world full of conflicts and war?” Watermelon Pictures unveiled an official trailer for an animated film entitled The Verreurwhich was first presented at first at the Film Annecy festival last year in France. It is created by an animation studio called Thousand Based in Pakistan, with a hand -drawn style that recalls the first Ghibli studio films. Everything about the life of a young glass blower in training and his relations over the years, while his land goes through war and conflicts. The young Vincent and his father, Tomas, run the best glass workshop in the country, but soon find their lives upset by an imminent war in which they do not want to share. The arrival in their city of an army colonel and his talented violinist girl, Alliz, shakes their reality and tests the relationship between the father and the son. Vincent falls in love with Alliz in a time when love does not seem to have any importance for their country … with the voices of Malik art,, Salla recently,, Anjli MohindraAnd Tony Jayawardene. They almost copy the Ghibli studio style exactly and tell a different story inspired by the history of Pakistan. Take a look.

From Mano Animation Studios and director Usman Riaz comes The Glassworker, an animated feature film drawn by hand in a location constantly inspired by Pakistan. A young Vincent and his father Tomas lead the best glass workshop in the country and find their life upset by an imminent war in which they do not want to share. The love that develops between Vincent and Alliz is constantly questioned by the different opinions of their fathers. It is a moment when patriotism and social position are considered more important than free thinking and artistic activities. It is a moment when love is simply not relevant. The Verreur is produced by the Pakistani composer / filmmaker / filmmaker Usman RiazMaking his director’s debut after a short film before. The scenario is written by Moya O’Shea and Usman Riaz. Produced by Manuel Cristóbal, Malik art and Khizer Riaz. Made by Mano Animation Studios based in Karachi. This was initially presented at first at 2024 Annecy Film Festival in France last year, and he also played at Toronto Reel Asian Film Festival and some others. Watermelon images release Riaz The Verreur film in some American theaters starting August 14, 2025 future.
