Oakdale nurse practitioner charged with Medicare fraud, identity theft and illegal drug recovery

OAKDALE, La. (KPLC) – A licensed nurse practitioner is facing multiple charges, including Medicare fraud, in Allen Parish.
Allison Jill Miller, 36, of Oakdale, faces the following charges:
- Medicaid fraud (4 counts)
- Identity theft (4 counts)
- Prescribing, distributing, dispensing or assisting in obtaining drugs illegally (4 counts)
In October, the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating allegations of Medicare fraud and illegal drug distribution, APSO said.
Investigators learned that Miller, a licensed nurse practitioner, was prescribing medications to patients and picking them up from the pharmacy herself, APSO said.
Today, Miller was arrested and booked into the Allen Parish Prison. His bail has not yet been set.
