A handful of Hollywood talents have joined South Korean auteur Bong Joon Ho on the jury of this year’s Marrakech International Film Festival.
Eight personalities from four continents will designate the winners of the Moroccan Cinema Festival, chaired by the president of the jury and Oscar winner Bong (Parasite). He will be accompanied by American actress Jenna Ortega, known for her roles in Wednesday And Beetle juice Beetle juiceAnglo-Argentinian star of Dune: part two, Furiosa: A Mad Max saga And The Queen’s Gambit Anya Taylor-Joy, as well as Past lives And Materialists director Céline Song.
Among the members of the jury for the 22nd edition, announced on Wednesday, is also the Brazilian director Karim Aïnouz, who won over international audiences with The invisible life of Eurídice Gusmãothe Moroccan filmmaker Hakim Belabbes, a key figure in intimate and memorial cinema and the French director Julia Ducournau, Palme d’Or for Titanium.
They will chair the jury alongside Iranian actor-director Payman Maadi, who became internationally famous in Asghar Farhadi’s film. A separation.
The Marrakech Film Festival will take place in Morocco from November 28 to December 6. The winners will be announced during the closing ceremony on December 6.
