What an astonishing beginning for this competition. What a superb 40 minutes of rugby league.

Brisbane is not going to die by wondering, you know, there is just the same suspicion of despair and the sometimes lack of cohesion that we saw against the panthers last week in the semi-finals.

But when he clicks them for them, these stars do not need to line up as much as a sequence on the test line.

The storm, however, our constellation of stars is at a different level – showing the kind of cohesion and the innate feeling of what their teammates do at a given minute to shred the defense of broncos into pieces.

It has so far been a barnstormer of the match – seems to be a shame that there is only 40 minutes left.

40 ‘Broncos are getting closer!

Oh my God!

Gehamat Shibasaki gets up on an adventure on the left side and is only refused by a brilliant cover tackle of Ryan Papenhuyzen.

But then Big Xavier Willison gets closer, Papenhuyzen with the tackle.

39 ‘Walsh and Mam in danger!

Oh that’s not what broncos want to do too much in their 10!

Reece Walsh ran to the center of the field and then went to Mam.

But Mam dropped it – fortunately backwards – and the broncos survive.

36 ‘Jahrome Hughes is a star!

Brilliant Melbourne halves!

Munster created an option on the left, but Harry Grant passed right to Jahrome Hughes who left his right foot three times to eliminate three broncos defenders, then be put on the desperate dive of Ben Hunt in the past.

The storm retredged.

The kick is good.

Storm 22-12 Broncos

35 ‘Storm have the ball

Xavier Coates and Deine Mariner challenge a Munster bomb in the area and Mariner obtains the last back -up contact while the ball takes place.

But did he have a touch first?

It was close.

The storm has the ball on broncos 10.

33 ‘penalty storm

A high blow on Xavier Coates – I wonder how his head feels right after having made a few serious shots.

This time, it was Jordan Riki with the wandering arm and the storm obtained an escape route after Ben Hunt tried a 40:20 that just missed.

32 ‘Ezra Mam enters the action

He obtained a huge Boo when he was shown on the screen earlier.

But he’s in action now.

31 ‘Reece Walsh with a superb try!

Kobe Hetherington with a brilliant race in the middle and a quick game on the ball.

Corey Peace plays the ball directly at Reece Walsh and he explodes.

There are no storm players at Marker and Walsh has therefore drawn a Mazy path through the defensive shred line.

He propelled Ryan Papenhuyzen and pushed it to the ground, then plunged under pressure.

What a test.

What moment in this game.

Broncos can be back.

The kick is good, the gap is four.

Storm 16-12 Broncos

29 ‘Brendan Piakura for a hia

Not a surprise given the high blow earlier.

29 ‘Melbourne successfully challenges a penalty call

Penalty broncos!

And a challenge from the captains of Melbourne.

There was a kick from Reynolds and referee Grant Atkins says there is an accidental offside.

The ball hit Josh King’s knee.

But there is nothing wrong there.

Good challenge.

28 ‘Broncos penalty!

A massive blow of Jahrome Hughes Nails Brendan Piakura.

But it was a high shot and the broncos will have a chance to test the broncos line again.

27 ‘Cam Munster with error

A seven tackle set for broncos after Cam Munster really spoiled a bomb and he goes out on the dead ball line.

Payne Haas, meanwhile, is disabled – it’s a surprise – but Xavier Willison is there.

26 ‘Two rehearsal sets for broncos!

Broncos are in charge!

Kotoni Staggs has a chance on one side but cannot get the final pass.

Then the storm again gives two six calls to be too slow.

Reece Walsh defies but is also linked.

Ben Hunt kicks and it’s not great, too shallow.

25 ‘The Broncos are launching early!

First tackle out of the fray!

Adam Reynolds spotted a gap and he brought back a truly powerful chase of Cam Munster saves the day!

It is an abandonment of the goal line!

24 ‘Storm Knock on

Brendan Piakura with a solid shot on Stefano Utoikamanu!

It is pumped and it could be the spark that broncos need.

22 ‘The storm is finished again!

(Getty Images)

A brilliant Eli Katoa cut the pass on the right, returns Will Warbrick!

The storm is endemic to the broncos here – there is simply no response from the defense of Brisbane.

The storm finds holes everywhere.

What Warbrick finish too, bringing together more than two covering the defenders and slating.

The kick of the key line is missing right next to the side.

Storm 16-6 Broncos

21 ‘Six still

Too slow release in the tackle there and the storm camped inside the Broncos 10 meters.

Broncos are already hung.

21 ‘Reece Walsh on the report

Oh my God, Reece Walsh is a lucky boy, I think.

He entered and nailed Xavier Coates in the head with the point of his shoulder.

Coates fell under pressure from Adam Reynolds.

But it is an unpleasant blow and it would be sent to the bac to almost all the other occasions – and rightly so.

20 ‘Six more for the storm

The storm did not move anywhere in this set, but a unloading of Katoa and a power race of Hughes obtained the storm on the front foot.
