Not BCCI or PM Modi! Suryakumar Yadav reveals who decided not to receive a naqvi mohhin trophy

The captain of the India Suryakumar Yadav team spoke about the team’s decision to refuse to recover the trophy of the president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Mohin Naqvi. Suryakumar said the choice had been made on the field by the players themselves and denied any direction or involvement of the BCCI.

ACC officials and the Chairman of the Emirates Board of Directors, Khalid Al Zarooni, tried to convince Naqvi concerning the presentation.

Simon Doull officially concluded the procedure, declaring that the Indian team would not take the trophy. “Ladies and gentlemen, I was informed by the Asian Cricket Council that the Indian Cricket team will not allow its prices this evening. This will therefore conclude the post-match presentation,” said Doull.

During the post-match press conference, Suryakumar Yadav said that India’s decision of Snober Mohin Naqvi had been made by the players on the field. He denied any involvement or instruction of the BCCI. The captain said the players were waiting on the field and acted collectively.

“I do not know what you say about the email (when asked if BCCI had sent a communication to ACC),” said Suryakumar Yadav.

“I have no idea. We have taken this call on the ground. No one told us to do this. And we were waiting. I think if you win a tournament, you play so well throughout the tournament. If you win, do you deserve the trophy or not? You tell me,” he added.

Chasing a target of 147 points, India lost Abhishek Sharma (5), Shubman Gill (12) and Suryakumar Yadav (1) in the first four Overs, leaving the team in difficulty at 20/3.
