Nolan Schanuel wins a walk to lift angels in front of the rangers

Travis d’Arnaud knows Jacob Degrom better than any other baseball receiver. He caught the right launch right -handed 60 times when they played with the New York dishes, the most common stay that the former Cy Young Award laureate launched in his career.

This familiarity made Arnaud and Angels well en route to their 6-5 victory against the Rangers (44-47) on Monday evening, in which Nolan Schanuel left his American West enemies in ninth round with a rbi walking.

The veteran recipient reached a degrom ambush during the second round for a two -point home run, just striking the fairly strong ball – 97.4 MPH – on the left field wall.

D’Arnaud’s circuit stroke broke the sequence of degrom franchise records of 15 consecutive departures with two or less given points-and provided to the Angels (44-46) with an advance of 3-2 at the start. Later, with Degrom online for the victory, D’Arnaud equaled the scoring during a rally of two outings in the sixth against the Relief Shawn Armstrong launcher, asserting a double on a deep left center field to mark Luis Regifo, who reached the base on one.

A striker later, Pinch-Hitter, Lamonte Wade Jr., channeled the theme of the “return week” to the Angel Stadium, returning to the clutch which earned him the nickname “Late Night Lamonte” in San Francisco. The 31-year-old man, bearing the uniform of the 70s style angels, chose center to give the angels an advance of 5-4.

Degrom has not faltered the ACE caliber stuff with which he often tests enemies. On Monday, he abandoned three points deserved and five strokes in five rounds, withdrawing five and walking two.

Yusei Kikuchi, who came out of the announcement on Sunday that he obtained a star of stars (his second in his career), was also not up to the billing of the launcher’s duel. The South Japanese worked for a first round of almost 20 minutes – in which he abandoned a home run of two points in Corey Seager – and never settled during his five heats.

Before the double of Araud, Kikuchi was necessarily the losing launcher, abandoning four points over six strokes, fighting to accumulate the same withdrawal success he had obtained lately. He withdrew four, tied for the second plus he had counted in 2025 and the first time he had done it since the end of May against the Yankees.

But none of this was important when Schanuel came on the plate with the loaded bases, washing a night of 0 for 4 with its walking.

R&R lift

The Angels placed the Right-right emergency launcher Hutter Strickland on the 15-day injured list with inflammation on the right on Monday afternoon. Strickland, who had launched 22 rounds in 19 games up to an average made by 3.27 for the Angels, said he felt that his arm stiff before launching the Blue Jays on Sunday.

During its release, in which Strickland withdrew a striker in a goalless round, the 36 -year -old said that the rigid feeling in his arm was getting worse, causing the passage of IL. Cuban Righty Víctor Mederos has been called since Triple-A Salt Lake City in its place.

“We just hope the best and see what they say,” said Strickland, adding that he will get an MRI on Tuesday.

Robert Stephenson (stretched nerve in the right biceps) said that he started to launch on Monday – Soft Toss – after the recovery of soft tissues, helped “heal the nerve.

“I don’t think it will be a quick process, but at least I can start accumulating,” said Stephenson, who is in the second year of a $ 33 million contract over three years with the Angels.

Stephenson launched only one round as a member of the Angels, injuring himself during his second appearance of Tommy John surgery on May 30.
