No. 1 prospect Jayden Wade commits to Georgia

Jayden Wade is a bulldog.
The IMG Academy quarterback, ranked No. 1 overall in the Rivals 2028 industry rankings, has committed to Georgia. A California native, Wade chose Georgia over Ohio State, Texas and others.
“Everyone works together and is on the same page,” Wade told Rivals in September. “They have the same goal, they work hard, and that’s one of the things I really like about Georgia…They don’t feed off the noise, they just want to work in Georgia. I like the competition there and the fact that it’s all about business.”
Wade has long been a top target for Georgia in the Class of 2028. The Bulldogs offered him on Christmas Day 2023 during Wade’s eighth year.
As he grew as a football player, Wade impressed the Georgia staff with his ability to understand the game. He showed off his football IQ during his visits to Athens.
“What they like most about me is when I got on the board and started putting together defenses, offenses, just letting them know my intelligence, my football IQ,” Wade told UGASports earlier this fall. “It was a play, and I explained to them how they could understand it because they didn’t know our play. I broke it down into all the little parts, and I showed them that if they miss, then we’re going to do this. If they alternate coverage, then we’re going to do this. I just explained it, I worked it out really well.”
Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo played a major role in Wade’s decision to join the Bulldogs.
“What sets him apart is he’s an old guy. He knows a lot about football,” Wade told UGASports earlier this fall. “He’s been through a lot of situations, you know, a lot of experience. That’s just what makes him different, he knows a lot about football, he also knows how to deal with quarterbacks. So that’s what I think makes him different, he knows almost everything.”
Wade also put NIL on the back burner during his recruitment. He feels it fits well with the Georgia head coach’s philosophy. Smart Kirby.
“What struck me is how hard he tries to keep it basic,” Wade told UGASports earlier this year. “That’s what I’m looking for. I’m not really worried about NIL and all that. I just want to be developed to get to the league…I’m at the point where I already know I can get a certain amount of money, but I don’t want it for that. I want to get to the league and develop.”
Wade is Georgia’s second commitment in the 2028 class, joining tight end Asa’s Wall.
