Nintendo fans have convinced the film Super Mario Galaxy will confirm a long -standing theory around the origins of Peach and Rosalina

The announcement of the film Super Mario Galaxy by Nintendo returned the fans rushing to Mario’s first film, and a teasing scene which seems to set up the freshly announced suite.

This scene, associated with the fact that Nintendo seems likely to adapt the intrigue of Mario Galaxy video game, aroused speculation of fans according to which we are about to see a large piece of confirmed Super Mario Lore, after decades of debate.

Super Mario Galaxy focuses on the character of Rosalina, a space princess that Nintendo herself declared sharing similarities with Princess Peach. In the first Galaxy match, Rosalina’s background frame is revealed through pages of a stories book, with her trip through the stars explained as her in search of her parents lost for a long time.

Rosalina’s kinship is maintained wave, with her illustrated mother but kept widely obscured. But Nintendo would have once planned a more concrete background frame which linked Rosalina and the kingdom of mushrooms, with it being linked to Princess Peach in one way or another.

Years later, fans in the eyes of Eagle spotted a mysterious teasing in the film Super Mario Bros. From 2023, in a scene that sees Peach discuss her origins and reveal how she arrived for the first time in the kingdom of mushrooms.

“You don’t seem to be here,” says Mario.

“I don’t know where I come from,” replied Peach. “My first memory is to arrive,” she continues, as shown in a flashback, aged in toddians, presenting herself in the kingdom of mushrooms via a chain pipe. Dressed in a skirt decorated with stars and moons, it is quickly found by a group of toads. “I was so lucky that they found me. They took me, raised me like one of their own, and when I was ready, they made me their princess.”

“Maybe you are from my world?” Mario suggests, although Peach seems to be in disagreement.

“There is a huge universe there, with a lot of galaxies,” she leaves, while the camera is falling to focus on the night sky.

It is a moment that some fans believe to be a sign of the head towards the own galactic origins of Peach – and with him, the link between her and Rosalina that Nintendo finally avoided confirming a long time ago.

Mario games are not known for their story, and the director of Super Mario Galaxy, Yoshiaki Koizumi, admitted that he had written Galaxy’s stories book in secret each evening, after other developers left the office. In the end, he even surprised the legend of Nintendo Shigeru Miyamoto with the idea, and a suitable version of his plans was finally included.

Without more details on this link between the two characters, and with Nintendo seeming to keep things vague, the fans were left to wonder if Peach could have been planned as Rosalina’s mother (or even the opposite), or alternately if the pair was intended for brothers and sisters.

Has Nintendo now softens his position on the secret of Rosalina’s story? Nintendo Direct from last week also provided indices. Koizumi and Miyamoto both appeared, the first announcing a physical version of the Galaxy Tales book as a linked product, and that additional pages of books of stories would be included for the first time in the Switch 2 Reissue of Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2.

With the film Super Mario Galaxy which went to space next year, fans could finally get answers.
