Nine people seriously injured after stabbing on Doncaster to London train – latest

When news of the stabbing broke Saturday evening, police said it took place in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

We later learned that the train itself had been operating at 18:25 GMT since Doncasterin South Yorkshire, London King’s Cross.

Some passengers said the attack began shortly after the train left. Peterboroughalso in Cambridgeshire – a scheduled stop, located about an hour from London by train.

After police received reports of stabbings, the train made an unexpected stop at Huntingdon Station – about 15 minutes from Peterborough by train. It was here that armed officers from Cambridgeshire Police were able to board the train, make their arrests and assist passengers.

Footage from the scene shows uninjured passengers being boarded on buses bound for London shortly before 11 p.m.
