Nike Basketball Releases Book 2, the Next Chapter in Devin Booker’s Signature Collection — NIKE, Inc.

Nike Basketball releases the next chapter in the timeless story of Devin Booker’s iconic athlete: the Book 2 footwear and apparel collection.

The ultimate designer, Devin worked closely with Nike designers to transform his second signature shoe into a modern classic, resulting in a low-key, performance silhouette inspired by skateboarding, vintage cars and classic Nike sportswear. Book 2 is joined by Devin’s latest collection of signature clothing, an expertly curated selection of modern sportswear infused with a sun-washed look that celebrates his career in Phoenix.

For Book 2, Devin challenged the design and innovation experts at Nike Basketball to create a modern take on a classic basketball shoe that brings it as close to the court as possible without sacrificing comfort or performance.

The low-profile design delivers a well-cushioned and responsive ride thanks to the strategic combination of a forefoot Air Zoom unit, bouncy Cushlon 3.0 midsole and plush foam lining.

“What was important for me was to feel the ground and be a little lower,” Devin says. “A lot of my inspiration came from classic shoes. The one that comes to mind is the Air Zoom Spiridon. With the first styles, I wanted to pay homage to Phoenix starting with orange and black for the Phoenix and Rising colorways, giving fans something to thrill to every game.”

As a student of basketball and a careful curator, Devin took inspiration from classic Nike sneakers with the utmost intention. A durable outsole takes inspiration from the venerable Air Force 1, with a new sun-dappled herringbone traction pattern that serves as a shout-out to Phoenix while helping hoops stay quick on their feet, pivot and get to their spots with time to spare. A closer look reveals cactus-inspired details and tiny asterisks drawn by Devin himself, and a lateral stabilizer creates a wider base of support for quick side-to-side movements and increased stability on the court.

Devin brought his meticulous attention to process and personal style to the product creation process, and his innate sense of curiosity and creativity led the design team to explore different midfoot containment options for Book 2.

Taking inspiration from the classic Nike Air Zoom Spiridon, two Book 2 models feature a lightweight webbed mesh upper, while the others have a new molded upper that gives the shoe a more modern aesthetic while providing a similar locked-in fit and solid midfoot support.

“For Book 1, we took inspiration from classic cars, where the engine is supercharged and tuned but the exterior looks classic,” says Ben Nethongkome, lead designer of Devin shoes. “This approach carried over to the Book 2, hiding the innovation underneath. We lowered the profile of the shoe for better on-court feel, and because we removed materials to get lower to the ground, we were able to move the Air Zoom unit from the heel to the forefoot, achieving the feel and performance Devin wanted with a lighter weight.”

Book 2 comes to life in a series of colorways that reflect Devin’s deep understanding that sport and style are the ultimate form of self-expression – drawing inspiration from his 11 seasons in the Arizona desert, his stellar college career and much more.

Devin’s impeccable personal style also shines through in his Book 2 clothing collection, which brings warmth in eight versatile pieces that pay homage to basketball culture.

Designers at Devin and Nike experimented by applying different dyes, finishes and prints to various fabrics to see where they wanted to end up creatively, which led them to a sun-washed look that celebrates life in the desert and everything Devin accomplished there.

The collection applies classic basketball cuts to premium, heavyweight fabrics that are finished with laser engraving for a rugged yet tailored fit and feel, creating an on-court ambiance that extends seamlessly from the stadium tunnel to the street.

Pieces include long-sleeve T-shirts honoring Haven, Devin’s first Cane Corso mastiff; a shirt cut with a raw edge created to Devin’s exact specifications; a woven jacket and game pants; and a brushed hoodie, shorts, and pants.

Nike Book 2 footwear and apparel will be available in January 2026 on nike.com and select retail locations.
