Marlon Wayans is holding her new film “Him” despite some less than stellar reviews.
The sporting horror film is currently sitting at 28% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Wayans went to Instagram on September 19 – the opening day of the film – to encourage fans not to listen to the critics and to consult the film themselves.
“Just to be clear … I respect criticism. Their work is to criticize, ”wrote Wayans. “I respect their work. This shapes our industry. But an opinion does not always mean that it is the opinion of everyone. Some films are ahead of the curve. Innovation is not always adopted and art must be interpreted and it is subjective. I had a career to make classic opinion which was not received critical and that these films have been classic.
The photo component of the article included screenshots of low rotten tomato scores for other Wayan projects, including “white chicks”, “do not be a threat to the South Center while drinking your juice in the hood”, “scary film”, “scary film” and “a haunted house”, which were commercial successes or that have cultivation.
“Him” speaks of a young hopeful hope (Tyriq Withers) who is postponed in the NFL and being taken under the wing of a legendary player (Marlon Wayans) to know everything about the success of the League and move forward. Unfortunately, there are many sacrifices – both metaphorically and not – which must be taken to make a name on the ground.
