Nicki Minaj slams Gavin Newsom, takes aim at support for trans kids

Nicki Minaj has attacked Gavin Newsom in a series of X-rated posts in recent days.

The outspoken rapper attacked the California governor and possible 2028 Democratic presidential candidate, in part for his support of trans children.

“I want to see trans kids…There is no governor who has passed more pro-trans legislation than I have. No one has been a stronger advocate for the LGBT community,” Newsom said on The Ezra Klein Show Wednesday.

Minaj wrote, “Imagine being the guy who wants to see trans kids. Haha. Even a trans ADULT wouldn’t work with that. Normal adults wake up and think they want to see HEALTHY, SAFE, HAPPY kids. Not Gav. The Gav Nots. GavOUT. Send the next guy in, I’m bored.”

The back-and-forth between Minaj and Newsom comes after Elon Musk’s America PAC posted a video of Newsom’s trans comments and Newsom’s office quote tweeted it, writing “We’re sorry your daughter hates you, Elon,” a reference to the SpaceX CEO’s ex-daughter Vivian.

Musk responded: “I assume you are referring to my son, Xavier, who suffers from a tragic mental illness caused by the evil waking mind virus that you are spreading on vulnerable children. I love Xavier very much and hope he recovers.”

Minaj continued to take aim at Newsom on

“Sitting there in this suit with sneakers. He thinks he’s Tom Cruise, the only difference is his next mission IS impossible,” she wrote.

Newsom is considered a likely Democratic presidential candidate in 2028. In other posts, Minaj suggested that her pursuit of the presidency may already be doomed.

“Oh Gavvy poop, it just keeps getting worse for you buddy,” she wrote, alongside photos of Chucky. “This is the end of the road for you, my love.”

She added: “Get on the nearest jet ski and let that beautiful hair blow in the wind. It will make you happier than this race you won’t win. Enjoy life. Peace.”

She continued to attack Newsom on X on Saturday.

Minaj has aligned herself with Trump administration officials and policies in recent weeks. In November, Minaj posted a screenshot of a Trump Truth Social article in which he said: “Christianity faces an existential threat in Nigeria. »

She wrote: “As I read this, I felt a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God. No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We do not need to share the same beliefs to respect each other. Many countries around the world are affected by this horror and it is dangerous to pretend that we do not notice.”

She thanked the “President and his team for taking this seriously. May God bless every persecuted Christian. Let us not forget to lift them up in prayer.”

Minaj even gave a speech at the UN about the treatment of Christians in Nigeria alongside UN Ambassador Mike Waltz.

She also reposted a TikTok from the White House to her song “Va Va Voom” touting the Trump administration’s accomplishments during the first year of the president’s second term, including “No men in women’s sports.”

This week, Minaj also appeared to express support for Vice President JD Vance over Newsom, retweeting the vice president’s cartoons and writing, “The Vance > The Gav Nots.”

Before Trump’s first term, Minaj expressed support for then-President Barack Obama and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. She also criticized Trump’s immigration policies, particularly the “zero tolerance” approach that led to the separation of migrant children from their families during the president’s first term.

“I came to this country as an illegal immigrant at the age of 5,” Minaj wrote on Instagram in 2018 as Trump faced backlash over the family separation policy, which he signed an executive order to reverse. “I can’t imagine the horror of being in a strange place and having my parents separate me at the age of 5. It scares me so much. Please stop this. Can you try to imagine the terror and panic these children are feeling right now? Not knowing if their parents are dead or alive, if they will ever see them again…”
