Pittsburgh – Nick Gonzales was back in the departure formation of Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday evening for the first time from the Break up the left ankle while hitting a home run during the opening day in Miami on March 27.
The second base player was activated from the 60 -day injured list before the opening of a three -game series with the Houston Astros on a visit. Gonzales had been sidelined with an unpleasant fracture.
“It feels good, just to be again here and see the guys,” said Gonzales before the match. “It was different today to come on the baseball stadium knowing that I play today in relation to the way it was in recent weeks, where there is no possibility for me to go in the game. I couldn’t even really walk, so I am excited to be absent in the pirogue with laughter with the guys and help the team win.”
Gonzales, 26, played nine rehabilitation games with Triple-A Indianapolis and struck. 194.
In other list movements, the right-handers Kyle Nicolas was recalled from Triple-A, and the interior / voltigger Nick Solak player was appointed for assignment.
The right -hander tank Tanner Rainey was DFA’D on Thursday’s day off when the inner field player Ronny Simon was claimed from Miami’s exemption and optionized in Indianapolis.
