NFL won’t take action against fan in incident with Steelers’ Metcalf

Following the decision to uphold Pittsburgh Steelers WR DK Metcalf’s two-game suspension, the NFL and Detroit Lions are reportedly taking no action against Ryan Kennedy, the fan involved in the altercation.

On Tuesday afternoon, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that the league and Lions would not take any action against Kennedy because “there was no violation of the fan code of conduct,” according to his source.

Late in the first half, Metcalf walked over to where Kennedy was in the stands and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. Metcalf then forcefully pushed Kennedy away, almost making contact with his face.

Metcalf appealed the decision, but the NFL and NFLPA opted to uphold his suspension, meaning the incident cost the Steelers $45 million in now-vacated guaranteed money.
