NFL top 100 first on June 30 as X Originals series produced by NFL Films
New York – The NFL and X announced today the launch of the NFL Top 100, a numerically reinvented version of the NFL Films Countdown Premiering franchise, Monday June 30 as a series of original X
Produced by the NFL Films, the NFL Top 100 will present episodes of three to five minutes highlighting the 100 best players in the League as voted exclusively by the current NFL players. The episodes will make their debut during the week at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. HE on X and NFL + from June 30 and taking place until Friday August 29.
Each day of the week will show off two new players, with 10 players in total classified per week over 10 weeks before the start of the 2025 NFL season. The top 10 will be announced on Monday September 1 at 8 p.m. HE on NFL Network.
This marks the 15th consecutive year that current NFL players voted to determine the Top 100. The 2025 edition embraces an abbreviated format and focused on digital designed for today’s fans – mixing NFL films signature narration with exclusive images, comments and social viewing experience.
“For 14 seasons, the NFL Top 100 delivered the final countdown classified by peers in sport,” said Ross Ketover, principal director of the NFL Films. “This year, we wear it where fans are already – on X – with a quick format that honors the original series.”
The NFL Top 100 will be presented exclusively on X, where the sports fandom thrives and already feeds the conversation all year round. Sport is the most popular subject of conversation on X, and the NFL is at the center. The X accounts affiliated to the NFL have nearly 50 million followers on X; The draft of the NFL 2025 attracted a million authors generating six million positions. X is the home of the NFL portal where fans can follow the massive league conversation all season.
The NFL Top 100 on X will be as raw as action on the ground, featuring highlights, exclusive sound dicks and comments from other stars of the league. Incorporating new images with the exclusive safe of the NFL movies of the historic intellectual property, the mini-series is perfectly suited for the public of X.
This series is the 18th series of originals to announce, after the heels of the newly announced video podcast organized by Venus and Serena Williams which begins on X later this summer.
The NFL Top 100 on X joins several other successful sports programs on X, including All in: Boston Celtics, a documentary produced by Shadow Lion by Tom Brady in collaboration with the Celtics and Fanduel, and the off-season, a series of women’s football that highlighted the stars of the league beyond the field.
