NFL fans react as Raiders announce Maxx Crosby needs surgery one day after DE leaves team facility

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby is expected to undergo knee surgery that will keep him sidelined for the remainder of the 2025 season. On Saturday, the Raiders placed Crosby on the injured reserve list, just one day after the DE left the team facility after learning he would not play for their final two regular season games.

When fans found out Crosby’s season had come to an abrupt end, they shared some crazy reactions.

“Yes, this looks like a cover story. Lots of anger towards this player and this team,” one tweeted.

@AdamSchefter Yes, that sounds like a cover story. Lots of anger towards this player and this team.

“He said no and they hurt him. Now he needs surgery. It’s unethical,” added another.

“Eyes will be on if there is a Raider left,” commented a third.

Here are some more reactions.

“I’m making sure they get that #1 pick lmao,” one wrote.

“Incoming business demand,” added another.

“Out of nowhere my brother is randomly cooked,” one user tweeted.

Crosby reportedly injured his knee in October, but the problem has plagued the player for two months. Since then, the five-time Pro Bowl DE has rarely participated in a full week of practice for Las Vegas.

The Raiders are hoping Crosby will be healthy for the start of the 2026 season after undergoing surgery.

Some initially thought the Raiders had no intention of facing Crosby in their remaining two games because it could potentially give them the top pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
