Next-gen MacBook Pro ‘coming soon,’ teases Apple VP Joswiak

As rumors swirled that Apple was going to unveil a handful of new products this week, Apple Vice President Greg Joswiak released a teaser video on Tuesday showcasing what appears to be a V-folded MacBook Pro. In a caption above the video, Joswiak wrote: “Mmmmm…something powerful is coming.” »
The M5 is the next generation of Apple silicon on Mac. In Roman numerals, “V” represents the number 5. And the five M’s in “Mmmmm” are another not-so-subtle hint that an M5 chip will be inside the new laptop shown here. Apple doesn’t typically release new products on a Thursday or Friday, so it seems like tomorrow is the most likely day for the M5 MacBook Pro announcement.
Reportedly, Apple will only release the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the base M5 chip. Since the M5 Pro and Max chips have a new design, these processors would be delayed until early 2026.
However, the 14-inch MacBook Pro may not be alone. Apple is also expected to launch a new iPad Pro and Vision Pro, both powered by the M5 chip. Reports also indicate that new Displays, AirTags and HomePod mini are also on Apple’s release schedule for this year, although it is unclear whether these products will launch this week or later in the year.
So keep your eyes peeled Wednesday morning because it could be a big day. And of course, Macworld will fully cover everything announced.
