Newcastle has been very busy on the front in recent weeks, which continued on Sunday with the confirmation of the arrival of Jacob Ramsey of Aston Villa. The 23-year-old joins the Eddie Howe team in competition for the places in the midfield, and he may not be the only addition made to this area of the park.

Having sold Elliot Anderson and Sean Longstaff in the past 14 months, Newcastle is currently light on the midfielder options. Apart from the regular starting trio of Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Jelinton, Howe had only Lewis Miley optional for the draw on Saturday at Villa Park, Joe Willock having undergone another injury during the pre-season.

This could mean that another midfielder could join, and according to the initiate of football, Pete O’Rourke confirmed that Newcastle was holding Bilal El Khannouss de Leicester, which could be signed to play alongside the new signature of Ramsey.

“He is a player who aroused a lot of interest this summer. He was one of the brilliant lights of Leicester in the Premier League last season. He is a very intelligent operator and has the potential to go to a larger club and become a great actor for them in the future.

Newcastle looked at him while pursuing Jacob Ramsey. They could potentially sign both to strengthen the team in this position. Eddie Howe needs a bigger team this season with football in the Champions League to face.

“Leicester is open to sell it and they will face a real battle to convince him to stay in the championship if he has premier League offers. It is an eye before the end of the window. I expect the offers to come for El Khanouss before the end of the window.”

Leicester expects to lose El Khannouss before the end of the summer, and with regard to his next move, Newcastle would be excellent.
