Clayton Kershaw, the offensive helps the salvage dodgers separate against the rocks

On Sunday evening, when the Dodgers arrived in Colorado, they had a golden opportunity to take their narrow division advance with the worst team of Majors. Unfortunately, even with the 9-5 Thursday victory against the Rockies, the Dodgers had only a split in the four game series.

They are now going to San Diego for a crucial series of three games against the Padres of San Diego with the head of division once again to win.

“I hope that we have won the four, but that simply did not happen,” said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. “It’s just the way baseball is. So we have to go there and whatever the ranking, we have to beat these guys.”

The classification, however, is looming. On July 7, the Dodgers led the division by six games. The margin is just a game.

The Padres, who won 12 of the 19 games in August, are the third highest team in the National League this month. Dodgers are a game of more than 0,500.

“That’s what it is,” said Roberts. “This is where we are right now and I can’t change it. I feel that our club enters San Diego. ”

His club will have a little momentum on his side after scoring 20 points in 30 strokes during the two victories in Coors Field. Thursday’s morning saw four players finished with several strokes, including the third base player Alex Freeland, who was a career record of three for five with a marked point and another conduit. Freeland has achieved six strokes in the last three games in Denver.

“It’s as if I trust now,” said Freeland, who entered Thursday by hitting. 180 since his triple-a Oklahoma City call three weeks ago. “In a way, I have spent a little time here now and I’m comfortable.”

The Dodgers also obtained a fourth consecutive effort on the part of the Starter Clayton Kershaw (8-2), which granted three points in 5⅔ sleeves. Kershaw only granted five points out of 23 2/3 innings this month, abandoning his time of the season by almost 50 points to 3.13.

It was also good enough to keep his team first, something he noticed later.

“You can’t take anything for granted in Colorado, of course,” he said. “But at the end of the day, we are [one] passing [to San Diego]. So we feel good about it.

Freeland accepted.

“We could have produced more. But you know what? We are going to take it today and take this momentum and bring it to San Diego,” he said.

After Kershaw won the opening of a series of three games with the Padres at the Dodger Stadium a week ago, the teams were even at the top of the NL that the Dodgers ended up sweeping this series and won eight with the Padres in the general classification this year.

“We played well against these guys this year,” said Roberts. “They will give us everything they have this weekend.”

The Dodgers started early Thursday with Mookie Betts, who reached the base four times, opening the match while walking on five throws. Freddie Freeman followed with a two -point home run, his 16th of the season, in the center of the field.

The rocks cut their heads in two at the bottom of the English Channel on a popup that was lost in the sun, a sacrifice, a Balk and a RBI field. But they would not be closer, the dodgers marking in each of the first five heats to take an advance of 8-2.

Freeland had his first triple career with a double and a simple, falling to a cycle circuit. He had six strokes in the last three games in Denver. Betts finished two for three with two balls on balls and two points with Freeman, who had two for five, increased his season average to 0.304 and reached 0.328 for August.

Shohei Ohtani feels good

Roberts said that the launcher / chipper designated Shohei Ohtani is well after withdrawing a line of driving from his right thigh in Wednesday’s match. Ohtani was to have on Thursday and Roberts said he would be back in alignment on Friday.

Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates to return

The Dodgers will activate the Tanner Scott lift before Friday’s match in San Diego and the Kirby Yates lift on Saturday. Scott came out of a month with inflammation in his left elbow while Yates missed three weeks with back pain.

Roki Sasaki makes progress

The right -hander Roki Sasaki progressed during his second departure from rehabilitation on Wednesday, making 3 rounds and abandoning two points (one deserved) on three strokes. He walked three and withdrew two two before leaving after 60 throws. He will make another rehabilitation start next week before the Dodgers make a decision on his role in September. The team spoke of using Sasaki in a rescue role.
