Newcastle turns attention to Wissa after Ekitike Snub

Newcastle joined clubs at Brentford striker Yoane Wissa after their inability to sign Hugo Ekitike.
Tynesiders have seen an offer for Ekitike rejected by Eintracht Francfurt earlier this week, how much Liverpool has intervened and French is now apparently intended for Anfield.
The positive for Newcastle is that the prosecution of Liverpool of Alexander Isak is now probably finished, and they can keep the Swedish international, but the rejection by Ekitike of a move to St James’ Park is the last of a series of snobs for the team of Eddie Howe.
They were interested in Joao Pedro, who opted for Chelsea, and Bryan Mbeumo, who continues to take a move to Manchester United even if there is no breakthrough while the clubs were walking on costs.
It remains to be seen if a decision for Wissa is more fruitful.
Wissa a sought after man
Dr. Congo International is also sought after by Nottingham Forest and Tottenham, now managed by the former boss of Brentford, Thomas Frank.
Wissa is still 12 months old on its contract at the Gtech community stadium, but the club has the possibility of extending it within an additional year.
The 28 -year -old scored 45 goals in 137 Premier League matches since he joined Lorient in 2021.
