Newcastle Red Bulls separated from rugby director Steve Diamond after a single game from the new pre-prem season.
Newcastle, which was taken over by the energy company, Red Bull in August, lost 39-17 at home against Saracens on Friday evening.
Diamond joined Newcastle in January 2024 and was at the helm for a period when the Kingston Park team recorded only two victories in 25 games and fought at the foot of the table.

The club announced a multitude of modifications made to the management structure with Neil McILroy to join the post of sports managing director of November 1, after having occupied similar roles in Clermont and Rugby League Catalans Dragons.
McILroy will be responsible for the entire management of rugby, while Alan Dickens will intervene as head coach and will present himself directly in Mcilroy.
Then from December 1, John Fletcher will arrive as director of the academy and pathways, supervising the development of local talents.
In addition, Jonny Petrie will occupy the position of Managing Director of October 6, focusing on off -scope issues.
Petrie is previously CEO of Ulster and Managing Director of Edinburgh.
