Leon Draisaitl opens onto the winner of the Oilers

In the post-match rinkside interview, Leon Draisaitl explained that the winning goal was the result of several strong games starting with Corey Perry to fight for the low washer and attracting it to Connor McDavid. McDavid then made a perfect pass, putting Draisaitl for the finish.

“Big game by Corey Down Low to take him to Davo, then obviously, Davo Super Pass,” he said.

Draisaitl also thought about the team’s state of mind when they were down 3-1 against the title champions. He stressed that Viktor Arvidsson’s goal was the key to the momentum for his team.

“We did it all year round, especially in the playoffs. You know, we stick to that, and we are never going to stop,” he added.

Draisaitl also mentioned that he felt good to take a lead in the 1-0 series, but underlined the importance of resetting and preparing for match 2.
