New York Lottery: New York Man Wins Million Dollar Winning Ticket; here’s how much he’ll bring home

A Carmel resident has joined the ranks of New York Lottery winners, taking home a $1 million prize in the VIP Millions scratch-off game, lottery officials announced.
Devone Cerreiro elected to receive his winnings in the form of a one-time lump sum payment totaling $651,010, after required deductions.
The winning ticket was purchased at Ali’s Lucky Place & Convenience, located at 718 McClean Ave. in Yonkers.
Carmel is about 50 miles north of Manhattan.
As of this writing, there are still 11 of the $1 million prizes and two $5 million prizes remaining on the VIP Millions ticket.

New York Lottery scratch-off games generated $4,339,794,048 in total sales during the 2024-2025 fiscal year. Putnam County school districts received $16,632,962 in education aid funds from the lottery during the same period.
