He was restored in Glorious and Pristine 4K and will be reissued this fall. After playing in Cannes, the film plans to Fantastic festival,, Virginand the Sitges Film Festival Before, there is theatrical debut in November. A must! In an underwater town, a young girl takes care of a large egg that she carefully holds in her arms – a treasure that she believes to be an angel egg. A boy with a firearm arrives in search of a bird he saw in his dream. At first, it seems that the feelings of sympathy develop between the two. Then, one night, the boy crushes his precious egg … The New York Japan Society says that the film is “an allegorical fantasy enriched by symbolism and biblical allusion”. With the voices of Mako Hydô & Jinpachi Nezu. There is not a lot of dialogue – these are amazing visuals and allegorical narration in this anime classic. It looks incredible! I have never seen it – that’s the right time to finally watch it. Appreciate.

Released directly to video in 1985, Angel’s EGG was produced by Tokuma shuten and is a creative collaboration between the international renown director Mamoru Oshii (De Ghost in the Shell), which wrote and produced functionality, and revered artist Yoshitaka Amano (From Final Fantasy, Vampire Hunter D). The film beautifully intersects the thematic reflections of Oshii on philosophy and theology, with the style of painting with distinctive ink of Amano, culminating in an allegorical fantasy drawn by hand.
