New Star Wars Comic May Offer Clues

A next one Star Wars the story is perfectly organized to reveal what happened to Grog after Order 66. Thanks to the flashbacks seen in The Mandalorian And Book of Boba Fettwe know that Grogu was saved from Revenge of the Sith Jedi Purge. However, there are still major gaps in the child’s Star Wars story (which may soon be revealed).

Star Wars and Marvel recently revealed an upcoming Pot Pot One-shot comic released next year featuring a team-up between Jar Jar Binks and Jedi Master Kelleran Beq. The story will be co-written by actor Ahmed Best (who played both Jar Jar and Beq) and Marc Guggenheim, with art by Kieran McKeown.

Because Kelleran Beq was instrumental in saving Grogu during Order 66, we might finally get some answers about the kid’s Star Wars history with this new story.

Everything We Know About Ahmed Best’s Jedi Master Kelleran Beq (So Far)

While Ahmed Best’s Kelleran Beq is best known for his role in The Mandalorian In the Order 66 Season 3 flashback, his first on-screen debut was actually as the host of the Lucasfilm show. Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challengea children’s game show premiered on YouTube in 2020.

Nicknamed “The Saber Hand”, Jedi Master Kelleran Beq is an incredibly gifted swordsman, as proven when he expertly defeated an entire squadron of clone troopers while wielding two lightsabers while protecting Grogu on the night of the Jedi Purge.

Responsible for overseeing the training of Younglings and Padawans before they are chosen by the Masters, Grogu was one of Beq’s students when the newly christened Darth Vader arrived at the Jedi Temple with the 501st Legion.

To rescue the child from the Jedi Temple, Beq and Grogu were aided by Beq’s friends from the Naboo Royal Guard who gave the duo a fuel-filled ship before holding off the pursuing clones, allowing the duo to escape Coruscant and jump into hyperspace.

This is the last time we saw Jedi Master Kelleran Beq on screen, although he is expected to appear in an upcoming issue of Marc Guggenheim’s film. Jedi Knights series in October before appearing in the recently announced series Pot Pot #1 will be released next year.

Likewise, this flashback with Beq constitutes Grogu’s last known location in the world. Star Wars timeline before it was discovered by Din Djarin in The Mandalorian season 1 premiere, decades later.

According to the synopsis of Pot Pot #1Representative Binks will have to deal with the consequences of what was by far his biggest mistake: granting emergency powers to Supreme Chancellor Palpatine:

“Jar Jar faces the consequences of granting emergency powers to Chancellor Palpatine. What central role does Jar Jar play in the formation of the Rebel Alliance? Guest starring fan-favorite Jedi Knight Kelleran Beq!”

The idea that Jar Jar will be redeemed by playing some sort of founding role in the origins of the Rebel Alliance is very exciting. However, the prospect of Binks teaming up with Kelleran Beq is arguably even more exciting, supporting the widely held theory that Beq’s ties to the Naboo Kingsguard stem from a history with Jar Jar.

After all, Senator Padmé Amidala was dealing with her corrupt husband at the time, combined with the simple fact that Ahmed Best plays both Binks and Beq. The opportunity for the two to form a partnership was apparently too good to pass up, especially now that the theory is likely to come to fruition with this new show.

Additionally, Binks playing a role in the formation of the Alliance could have interesting implications for Beq, a confirmed Order 66 survivor whose whereabouts during the Dark Times are just as unknown as Grogu’s.

The likely implication is that Beq was probably active after 66 as well, although it is questionable whether he was traveling the galaxy fighting the Empire, as well as why and when he separated from Grogu, who was alone when Din Djarin found him.

Did Beq and Grogu stay together for a while, or was the child immediately hidden away? These are the answers to this news Star Wars We hope the comic reveals (or at least teases).

Will Star Wars ever give us the Grogu answers we need?

Even if we don’t learn more about the history of Kelleran Beq and Grogu after Order 66 in this new Pot Pot comical, there are still other ways Star Wars could reveal their shared history. The biggest example that comes to mind is a potential new flashback in the next Mandalorian and Grogu film coming out next year.

Grogu’s past trauma and history have been gradually revealed over time since The Mandalorian season 2. It would follow that the new movie would give us new information instead of a fourth season.

Either way, we’re certainly keeping our fingers crossed that we get new pieces of the Grogu puzzle in Star Wars’ near future.

Star Wars: Jar Jar #1 is expected to be released in February 2026 by Marvel Comics.
