New First Look at Pet Chimpanzee Horror Movie ‘Primate’

“You have this incredibly powerful teddy bear that can just rip you limb from limb…” 🙈 Paramount Pictures has released a short promotional video for the horror film titled Primatethe last of 47 meters lower director Johannes Roberts. This film will be released in theaters in January in a few weeks. In PrimateA group of young friends’ tropical vacation to Hawaii turns into a terrifying, primal tale of horror and survival. This film premiered at Fantastic Fest & Sitges and other genre festivals this fall and it’s very good – read my full review of Stiges. Back from university, Lucy reunites with her family, including the chimpanzee Ben. Ben contracts rabies at a pool party and becomes aggressive. Lucy and her friends barricade themselves in the pool, finding ways to survive the vicious chimpanzee. Featured Johnny Sequoyah, Jessica AlexandreAnd Troy Kotsur like the father, with Victoria Wyant, Gia Hunter, Benjamin Cheng, Charlie Mann& Hey Simon. This is legitimate promotion for the film – perhaps better than the first trailer. One of the only good animal horror films.

A tropical vacation that will eventually turn into a terrifying primitive story of survival horror. Primate is directed by a veteran British genre filmmaker Johannes Robertsdirector of both 47 meters lower movies about sharks, as well as Forest of the Damned, Storage 24, The other side of the door, Strangers: prey at nightand that of 2021 Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City previously. The screenplay is by Johannes Roberts and Ernest Riera. Produced by Walter Hamada, John Hodges, Bradley Pilz. This was originally shown at Fantastic Fest 2025 and the Sitges Film Festival.
