“ Like being with a rock star ” – 10 years of sons at Spurs

“I have never seen anything like it,” said Walker, who spent eight years in northern London before joining Manchester City in 2017, “you never beat Kyle Walker on his podcast”.
“We would make an appearance and then we should use lure vehicles to escape because the fans were trying to stop traffic. They all wanted to have a glimpse of Sonny.
“They would come back to the hotel where we stayed and all night, they sat outside. It was incredible.
“I have already seen him to a certain extent with Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard and David Beckham. But it was nothing compared to Sonny.”
Wimmer, who has stayed in touch with his son since his departure from the Spurs in 2017, compared it to “be in the company of a rock star”.
“I was still joking with him on this subject,” he said.
“I said:” You are the most famous guy in South Korea “, but he was like:” No, no, it’s not so special “.”
The former defender of Austria Wimmer had arrived at White Hart Lane in Cologne in the summer of 2015, three months before his son.
“I knew him because, like me, he played in the Bundesliga,” adds Wimmer.
The pair has established an instant friendship in London.
When they started in Tottenham, they often spoke German together while they were improving their English.
After a victory in Southampton in 2016, Son and Wimmer interviewed – in English – for TV Spurs.
“Kev, why are you my best friend?” asks his son.
Wimmer replies: “Because you’re a wonderful guy, an honest guy. It’s always funny with you and I hope we stay together for many years here.”
In one year, Wimmer had been sold to Stoke for 18 million pounds sterling. Her son stayed to become a great spurs.
