Netflix’s biggest film of all time returns to theaters in a big way

For 17 weeks, Demon Hunters KPop dominated the world. Not only was it one of the top films on Netflix’s movie chart, but its soundtrack also attracted huge streaming numbers, leading voice actors to perform the song live on Jimmy Fallon. Today, by popular demand, Netflix announced that Sony’s animated feature film will return to theaters for a limited time. So if you want to sing your heart out in front of like-minded people, now is the time to do it.

THE KPop Demon Hunters Singing Event returns to theaters this Halloween for a limited time. It will be shown in major cinema chains in the United States and Canada, as well as in international regions, including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Korea, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Australia and New Zealand. This will be the second time that this feature film will have a limited theatrical release. It was already released in theaters in August and generated $18 million worldwide.

Kpop Demon Hunters is an animated fantasy feature film in which a KPop group called Huntr/x are also demon hunters, using their voices to create a magical barrier called Honmoon. Tired of seeing demons constantly fail, the Demon King, Gwi-Ma (Lee Byung Hun), accepts a new plan from Jinu (Ahn Hyo-seop) to form a group of demons called the Saja Boys and use the fans to weaken the power of the Honmoon. Meanwhile, Huntr/x leader Rumi (Arden Cho), is secretly a half-demon, and it is this secret that Jinu attempts to exploit, subsequently forming a budding romance.

What’s next for ‘Kpop Demon Hunters’?

From Demon Hunters KPop was released in June, the feature was a huge success. It was highly praised by fans and critics, generating a Certified Fresh review score of 95% and a Verified Hot audience score of 99%. Additionally, the soundtrack generated millions of streams, with “Golden” being the most streamed song.

The creators of Demon Hunters KPop, Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhansare aware of the unanswered questions the film leaves and have stated that if a sequel were to be approved, it would allow them to tell these missing stories. Fortunately, Demon Hunters KPop has received the encore performance it deserves, as it has been reported that Netflix and Sony are considering releasing a sequel. It has not yet been revealed when production will begin and when the product will be released. However, the creators confirmed that a live-action adaptation of Netflix’s most-streamed film was not an option, saying there were stories, like Demon Hunters KPopwhich are much more suitable for animation.
