Netflix to transport TF1 channels to France after the “first of its kind” agreement

From the summer of 2026, Netflix subscribers in France will be able to watch the TF1 channels on the streaming platform.

The historic agreement – describes as a “new type of partnership” by Netflix – will see the live channels of the TF1 group and the content on demand available for members of Netflix in France as part of their existing subscription. The streamer presented the possibility of watching shows broadcast on TF1 such as “Broceliande” and “The Voice” “without ever having to leave the service”.

The financial details have not been revealed, but the TF1 agreement could prove to be a decisive test before similar arrangements worldwide, because Netflix strengthens its power on traditional broadcasters and seems to become a single window for the television public.

“This is a kind partnership that plays for our strengths to give the public the best entertainment alongside the best discovery experience,” said Greg Peters, Netflix CO-PDG. “By teaming up with the main French broadcaster, we will provide French consumers even more reasons to come to Netflix every day and stay with us for all their entertainment.”

The agreement was announced in France at the Cannes Lions advertising conference, Peters flying in particular.
