Netflix sells Cozy Grove and Spirit Crossing Studio Spry Fox

Netflix is once again reconfiguring its commercial strategy in the video game field by selling Spry Fox, the developer behind “Cozy Grove” and the upcoming “Spirit Crossing,” to the studio’s founders.
Variety has confirmed that Spry Fox, acquired by Netflix in 2022, will split and become an independent studio again. Although Netflix will continue to be the publisher of the mobile version of “Spirit Crossing” when it releases next year, the game is now expected to be released on more platforms.
The news was first reported by Game File.
“‘Spirit Crossing’ was designed to connect the world, bring people together and inspire kindness, so being able to bring the game to so many players, across different platforms, is truly the best thing for gaming,” co-founder David Edery said Wednesday. “We are very grateful for our time at Netflix and our continued partnership in releasing “Spirit Crossing” next year.”
More to come…
