Netflix says that 50% of world users are now watching the anime

Netflix has doubled its global animated strategy during the weekend, revealing a list of new titles and fresh images during its showcase at Anime Expo in Los Angeles. The company also shared data from updated viewers stressing how the Japanese anime has gone from its old niche in a powerful world content category.
According to Netflix, more than 50% of its members – amounting to more than 150 million households, or around 300 million viewers – are now looking at anime. The company claims that the hearing on the anime on the platform has tripled in the past five years, 2024 marking a record year: 33 anime titles appeared in the world ranking of the first 10 (non-English) of Netflix, more than double the number in 2021.
The streamer has also revealed that the contents of anime was seen more than a billion times worldwide in 2024, and that 80 to 90% of users choose to look at dubbed anime. To capitalize on demand, Netflix began to offer anime titles with a double sound and descriptions in up to 33 languages.
Direct the next Streamer’s slate is Sakamoto DaysThe series of action in Hitman who has become-family based on popular manga. The first season of the title spent 10 weeks in the world’s top 10 Netflix and traced in 54 countries, including Japan, Korea, France and Argentina. New weekly episodes will start broadcast on July 14.
Another high -level version is Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2A series of the famous Dystopian 2022 series of Studio Trigger, taking place in the grainy universe of the Cyberpunk 2077 video game of CD Projekt Red. At Anime Expo, Netflix started a first teaser and a new key art for follow -up.
My melody and Kuromi
For world kawaii culture fans, Netflix will be presented at first My melody and Kuromi July 24. The Stop-Motion series brings Sanrio’s beloved characters in an original adventure where they have to save their homeland, Mariland, from an imminent threat.
Additional additional anime titles teasing at Anime Expo included Ragnarok III record,, Beastars final season And The scented flower flowers with dignity. Netflix underlined continuous growth of gender through demography and regions, noting that recent animated achievements took place on action (Jujutsu Kaisen,, Spy x Family), science fiction (Gundam: Requiem for revenge), Fantasy (Delicious in the dungeon), and the romance of a slice of life (My happy marriage,, Pokémon concierge).
