Netflix cancels Jake Paul boxing match

Netflix announced its cancellation Jake PaulThe next boxing match will live on their platform, but there is still good news coming for the fighter. Following Paul’s live-streamed fight with Mike Tyson in late 2024, the boxer was scheduled to fight Gervonta “Tank” Davis on November 14, 2025. The fight was scheduled to take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
However, Netflix has confirmed that the fight between Paul and Davis has been canceled. The plug was pulled after event coordinator Most Valuable Promotions began investigating Davis after a civil lawsuit was filed against him on October 30. CEO Nakisa Bidarian explained the decision not to move forward in the fight. However, Bidarian confirmed that Paul would headline another fight before the end of the year:
Our team has worked closely with all parties to manage this situation responsibly. Even if we do not move forward with this event, our plan remains for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025. Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent and additional fights will be shared as soon as they are finalized. We thank Netflix, Kaseya Center and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for their partnership.
The lawsuit was filed against Davis by a woman accusing him of assaulting her at the Miami Gardens strip club, Tootsie’s Cabaret, on October 27. The woman had known Davis since 2022 and had already been in a five-month relationship with him before the attack. Following the fight’s cancellation, Paul posted on X, calling Davis “a real walking human waste.“
More information about Paul’s next in-ring fight will be revealed at a later date. For now, Netflix has announced that those who purchased tickets for the Jake vs. Tank fight through Ticketmaster will have them refunded within the next 14-21 days, while those purchased from other providers will need to contact them for a refund.
Paul’s post-Tyson boxing career allowed him to experience more success in the ring. His last victory came against Julio César Chávez Jr. in July, where he earned a unanimous decision in a 10-round cruiserweight fight. Paul’s fight against Davis was supposed to be his second in the ring for Netflix, which will now be replaced by something different.
It’s unclear exactly what event Paul will headline, or who he’ll be fighting. Given Netflix’s continued expansion into live events, it makes sense that they’d want him still involved in something before the end of the year. However, the setup will likely be much smaller than what was planned for his fight with Davis.
However, now that PaulDavis’ match with Davis was canceled, this opens the door for the fighter to have a match less involved in controversy and legal issues. Netflix’s clear commitment to ensuring that the boxer can participate in a live match means that it is committed to making up for the cancellation with a suitable replacement event.
